This is a 4-week academic program for students in grades 1st to 6th. Goal of this program is to prepare students for the next school year. Students in this program meet 4 days a week from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Every day students study Mathematics and English for two hours each. Optional part of this program includes typing, logic games and computer apps.
We are offering three different Introduction to computer science programs over the summer.
1. Create Animations and Games: This is a first course in introduction to computer science curriculum. Goal of this course is to excite students about computer science and enhance their ability to creatively express themselves. Course is geared towards students in grades 4th – 8th.
2. Android App Development: This is a first course in events based programming. Exposes students to app development and problem solving in a very quick fashion. This course is geared towards students who have some prior experience with computer science and are in grades 7th-12th.
3. Introduction to Java This is a first course in object oriented programming. This course teaches students basics concepts of object oriented programming and introduces them to basic syntax of Java Language.
SAT Comprehensive Summer Program
This is a complete SAT program, taught by experienced teachers. Program starts with 6 weeks of extensive review and study of the concepts students have learnt over the past 5 years. Student progress during this review is monitored by weekly assessments. After the initial 6 weeks focus moves on the test taking strategies and ironing out any conceptual difficulties students might have. All in all this is 140 hours of test prep, which includes 96 hours of instruction and 12 practice tests.
